Virginia Commonwealth University is leading a collaborative project to reduce the time it takes for 18-24 year olds who lack a high school education to earn a GED credential and Career Readiness Certificate and complete training to prepare them for entry-level work in high-demand, technology sector jobs
Status:
The first PlugGED In class of 20 students began in February 2009 at the Southwest Technology Development Center in Lebanon, Virginia, and is expected to reduce the time it takes the first class of 15 – 20 students to become “job ready” from about 27 months to six months.
